The Centre has a permanent gallery of sculpture which showcases stone carving work from local and visiting tutors. We aim to support established and emerging artists, both in Purbeck and the wider area. We have a wide variety of local artist’s work for sale including carvings, paintings, prints, traditional craft pieces and a large choice of locally made cards.

We are re-imagining our tea room: look forward soon to our reasonably priced teas, coffee and soft drinks at the cafe with the best view in Dorset – along with healthy portions of homemade Dorset apple cake as well as other snacks and local Purbeck ice cream.

A place to take time out

Enjoy the peace and quiet in the heart of the working Purbeck Stone landscape whilst enjoying the stunning views of the Jurassic coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We have a number of picnic benches which are perfect on a sunny day for enjoying the environment and taking in the view.

Centre hire

This unique venue has superb all-weather facilities making it an ideal location any time of the yearfor your own exhibition, craft fair, seminar or course.

  • Both workshops have electricity points; the main workshop has a wood burner, providing warmth in the colder months.

  • Banker Hire

  • Display boards are available

  • Toilet

  • Disabled access

  • Kitchen area (tea/coffee making facilities), microwave and toaster.

  • Support and assistance from office staff if necessary.
