Welcome!
“I’m David Wise, Centre/Office Manager at Burngate since June 2022.
My previous career has been in IT project management, process-improvement and team-leadership, as well as running my own coaching business for the last 8 years – focused on leadership performance coaching. So I’m used to building relationships, office administration, technology and managing change – and I am really looking forward to supporting Burngate in its transformation over the next few years, alongside building relationships with you all and running the day to day office activities.
My wife Suzie and I moved from Bristol to Worth Matravers, Purbeck in June 2021, since our two boys have grown up and making their own way in life with their partners. We love it here in Purbeck and are doing our best to join in with the Purbeck community.
I’ve taken part in three Burngate courses so far – the All-Day Introduction to Stone Carving, the half day Lettering & Engraving Skills and the 2-day Relief Carving Inspired by Nature. On the back of these, I have discovered a new and absorbing hobby.
My other hobbies include walking , especially day-long hikes around (I’m really spoilt with the amazing walks around Dorset and scenery along the Purbeck ridges) and multi-day hikes on our national trails, like the Wessex Ridgeway which I completed last year across 9 days. Plus golf, sailing and personal development – anything related to the power of the mind.
Oh, and did I mention stone-carving? 😊
If you are curious, or if you’ve been bitten by the stone-carving bug, or have an interest in the local landscape, or just want to do your bit to support the Purbeck community, then please come up to our Burngate office, enjoy the amazing views over Swanage, out to the Isle of Wight, and let’s have a chat about the many ways that you could support Burngate either by booking a course, a banker or joining us as a volunteer!
I look forward to welcoming you.
Best Wishes
David “
