Listening to Stones
We’re delighted to welcome Alyson Hallett to read poems and be in conversation with Patrick Corbett about her life-time’s work with migrating stones and all things geopoetic.
This event will be an immersive experience.
Alyson will share poems and stories from her life spent working with rocks and stones. This includes her international poetry and public art project, The Migration Habits of Stones, and more recent work that includes listening to the stones of Stanton Drew Stone Circles.
Alyson has also been working with a multi-disciplinary team at the University of Bristol to explore the implications of decolonising rock collections and in in particular, returning rocks to Aotearoa New Zealand.
Please bring along a rock or pebble to hold during this talk. Don’t worry if you forget – we’ll have some others to hand.
